Wedding Music for Geeky Brides and Grooms

We’ve covered a lot of types of popular wedding music over the past year, including 80s songs, 90s jams, and even alternative first dance songs.  However, as evidenced by every Star Wars or Game of Thrones wedding, there is a growing subset of wedding themes that are gearing towards the geeky.  And just like any good theme, music should play a huge role in it.

We’re pretty big fans of The Vitamin String Quartet, who have released over 200 tribute albums and happen to have a huge collection of material available on Spotify.  They also have two “Geek Wedding Compilations“:

Volume 1 (Spotify Link)

  • Concerning Hobbits (The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring)
  • Dearly Beloved (Kingdom Hearts)
  • Birdhouse in Your Soul (They Might Be Giants)
  • Main Title (Game of Thrones)
  • Still Alive (Portal)
  • The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme) (Star Wars)
  • Ice Dance (Edward Scissorhands)
  • Harry In Winter (Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire)
  • The Next Generation Theme (Star Trek)
  • Island in the Sun (Weezer)
  • Love Theme from Superman (Superman: The Movie)
  • Storybook Love (The Princess Bride)

Volume 2 (Spotify Link)

  • Halo – Opening Suite
  • Raiders of the Lost Ark – Raiders March
  • Doctor Who – Theme
  • The Power of Love
  • The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough
  • Linus and Lucy

In addition, we’ve compiled some additional popular tracks to incorporate into the wedding festivities or at least give you some ideas:
