Illinois State Fairgrounds Wedding

It’s always a pleasure to be able to work with a bride and groom throughout the entirety of their journey. Such was the case this past weekend with the Ibberson wedding at The Illinois Building at The Illinois State Fairgrounds. I first met with Jessica and Rich almost a year ago at a coffee shop in Springfield and from there we have remained in constant contact leading up to their big day. Every detail was covered from the starting time of their ceremony to the last dance of the evening. Fun DMC is not merely a band, we are a brand. We are a full service wedding entertainment company and often times, our services include wedding planning, ceremony sound and production, and in general, ensuring that the wedding reception is on schedule.

The band arrived on site at Illinois State Fairgrounds on Friday night to begin setting up for the event. In addition to the reception, we were also providing support for the ceremony which was taking place in the same space. Following setup, I remained at the venue to walk though the wedding ceremony rehearsal. Their wedding ceremony was a lovely event, attended by a couple hundred guests of Rich and Jessica. One nice surprise was the Game Of Thrones theme song being played as their recessional song. It was a fitting exit for the couple. Dinner was provided by Cured Catering and cupcakes by HyVee, both of which did a stellar job and serving up a delightful spread for the guests. Following speeches and dances the rest was left to Fun DMC to close out the night with a high energy show and a fun crowd. A star spangled Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubeman made an appearance. It is the opinion of this author that he should be at every show.

This Friday we are celebrating Teacher’s Night Out at The Blue Grouch. See you there!
