Fun DMC Western Illinois Weekend Recap

Posted by on February 14th 2018

Fun DMC once again found themselves on the road last weekend. It began in Jacksonville at the historical Hamilton’s just off the square. We had been invited for the second year to perform at the Jacksonville Rotary Club‘s “Evening In Paris” Valentine’s Dinner and Dance. The evening included a silent auction as well as live auction from Jess Spradlin, prime rib from Hamilton’s fine catering service, and of course, Fun DMC. Our good friends from Warmowski Photography were on site. If you haven’t had the opportunity to have them at your event you are truly missing out. In addition to being phenomenal photographers they are also full of energy and fully engage with guests on the dance floor.

Following a wonderful evening at Hamilton’s, Talon, Chad, Katey, and Robert continued on to Quincy, Illinois where they would close the night out at an Airbnb watching the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang.

The next day, our Quincy group decided to see what the metro area had to offer and wound up at Scotties Fun Spot, a giant arcade which included roller skating, laser tag, bowling, and endless opportunities for winning tickets which ultimately resulted in taking home a plush unicorn.

That night, the band made their Quincy, Illinois debut at the South Side Boat Club. The crowd was electric and the band performed with an intensity that left nothing on the table. We will definitely be returning to the SSBC this summer.

This Friday, the band reunites with Smashtag for their third annual Valentine’s show at Mowie’s Cue. On Saturday you can find us in Athens at The Boar’s Nest. Please come out and see us at any one of these venues or both.
