A Friday Night at The Blue Grouch

The Blue Grouch Springfield IL

Friday night found Fun DMC short one member but eager to perform at America’s Favorite Neighborhood Bar the Blue Grouch. Dr. Albert Capati and his staff at Capati Dental were spending some time at a dental conference in Jamaica while the rest of our crew continued to enjoy the never ending pre-Spring chill of 2018. In Albert’s absence, none other than The Vanilla Gorilla himself PlusTalon Holmes assisted in vocal duties for the show. As the lion’s share of picking up vocals would go to Katey Kamerad, she undoubtedly had the most work to catch up on. She would go on to dish out a performance for the ages, not simply engaging with our crowd but leaving them with no choice but to hop on the dance floor. Fun DMC had promoted the evening as an appreciation night for teachers and we were thrilled at the turnout. We love our fans, old and new, and we are so thankful for every single one of you who take time out of your lives to come out and support us.

THAT SAID…. Please note, no matter how much you enjoyed your time with Fun DMC, no matter how much you think you connected with the band, no matter how many songs you think might have been an invitation, PLEASE DO NOT COME UP AND KISS OUR BAND MEMBERS ON THE MOUTH WITHOUT ASKING FIRST. I’m not saying that 100% of the time we will turn you down. Maybe the Vanilla Gorilla could use a good smooch. But it’s 2018, the year of “Me Too” and “Time’s Up” and we would have hoped that by now most of you would have learned better.

Fun DMC will be hitting a few private shows and then they will be welcoming Baby Reynolds into the family and taking a few weeks off. We will see you all very soon.
