How do you prepare/warmup to sing for a whole show?

I have warm up Mp3’s that I run though a time or 2. I also hum, lightly singing a few songs.

What’s your remedy when your voice is gone and the show is about to start?

Hot water, sometimes with lemon juice. Throat lozenges. I make sure I warm-up as best I can and I completely change the way I sing when sick so I don’t hurt myself. I’ve never canceled a gig for being sick or no voice in almost 20 years.

What singers inspire you?

I love so many types of singers it’s hard to name them. I like to pull things from all different genres. Anywhere from Opera, Metal, Country, Rock, Blues… Nightwish, Heart, Pat Benatar, Selena, Within Temptation Aretha Franklin. I really could name hundreds…

What song has challenged you the most?

Hmmmmm I’d have to say our ACDC tunes can be terrifying at times haha. Making sure those notes get nailed. Or even Evanescence or Halestorm sometimes.
