How do you prepare/warmup to sing for a whole show?

Having no vocal training of any kind, I read alot about vocal warmup techniques and methods. I start with low range humming to get the vocal chords loose, lip trills etc.

What is your drink of choice on a show night?

My drink of choice during the show is water, also caffeine free hot tea with lemon and honey, and a shot or two of “Fireball”!

What’s your remedy when your voice is gone and the show is about to start?

Luckily I’m pretty healthy, but when I do get sick I use Mucinex to clear the mucus along with a steam inhaler. I will use the steam inhaler even when I’m not sick.

What singers inspire you?

Steve Perry is probably my favorite singer of all time with Mickey Thomas a close second.

What song has challenged you the most?

When I first started singing, in my thirties, lol, I could sing anything. Journey, Starship, higher range vocal songs. Now that I’m getting older not do much, that being said Jane by Starship has been one of the most challenging songs for me.
