Last Friday night found the band back at one of their favorite South Side Springfield, Illinois spots, Mowie’s Cue. Mowie’s has been a regular stop for the band since our early days and always has a group of regulars ready to dance every time we play there.

This last time we played there was even more special as we were joined by the family and friends of Jonny and Kara McGlennon. We were (and still are) scheduled to play at their wedding reception in June 2018. However, as it turns out, Kara and Jon had jumped the gun a little bit and were actually married earlier that day! And what better way to celebrate with their entourage than spending an evening with Fun DMC. They spent the evening on the dance floor with Central Illinois’ Favorite Wedding Band and of course we cleared it for them so they could have their “first dance.”

This past weekend was also of particular significance as it was Dr. Albert Capati’s last weekend with his other project, Take 10. The Doc has spent the last couple of years building the band into one of the area’s most popular acts. As time and scheduling are always short supply, Albert felt it was time to step down from the band. In typical Albert fashion, the good doctor gave his all for three shows in three days until he was without a voice. He is recovering this week and there are rumors that he can actually speak again.

We are returning to Mowie’s on November 22nd for Blackout Wednesday. We certainly hope to see you there.
