Have you ever been Rick Rolled before? For those of you who may not know what that is, it’s when a video is posted in a discussion that is seen as being relevant, only to open it and Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up plays instead. At times it can be infuriating, but man, nothing makes a prank better than getting great reactions, good or bad.

Anyways, The Foo Fighters (led by Dave Grohl) had a concert and decided that they were going to bring Rick Astley on stage. Sounds fun and innocent and that only a good time could be had. I feel like most people probably thought some form of Rick Roll was going to take place, as is tradition it seems when anything happens involving Rick Astley, and those people would be right.

Some of you may know that Dave Grohl was the drummer in a previous band prior to creating the Foo Fighters, a little band known as Nirvana fronted by Kurt Cobain.

They had a few hits.

The point is, after Rick got up on stage and drops some language on the crowd Dave breaks into what seems to be the riff from Smells Like Teen Spirit and then my boy Taylor Hawkins drops in with that signature drum intro for the song. It’s going great and they get into the verse… and I feel I can trust that everyone knows what happens from there. All I can say is, it sounds better this way. Go ahead and give it a listen.

No, it’s not a Rick Roll… well… technically maybe? I don’t know, I feel I did warn you.
